Rear support
Support at the back. Freedom at the front.
Plenty of older dogs stay strong and sure through their front legs while the back end starts to need a little help: rising from a rest, keeping a steady pace, or managing a step.
The Rear Support Sling gives you a simple way to offer that help. It supports the rear only, so your dog keeps leading with the front and keeps doing the moving, while you gently take some of the weight at the back.

Using the sling
Let them lead. Support from behind.
A few simple habits help rear support feel natural for you both.
- Introduce the sling calmly, letting your dog see and sniff it first
- Position the support section beneath the rear before you take any weight
- Take a little of the weight, not all of it, and let your dog keep walking
- Stay upright and move at your dog's pace
- Take steps slowly, one at a time
- Check your dog's comfort each time, and stop if they seem uneasy
How do I choose a size?
Sizes are listed by chest measurement, with a handle length of 35 cm for every size. If you're unsure which size will suit your dog, email hello@wagforward.co.uk before ordering and we'll help you choose.
Does the sling carry my dog's weight?
It's designed to let you gently take some of your dog's weight while they keep moving, rather than to carry them.
Can I use it on steps?
It can give extra assistance through steps and small changes in level. Take steps slowly, one at a time, and stay with your dog throughout.
What if my dog needs help at the front too?
Then the Full Support Harness may suit them better, as it supports both the front and the rear.
A steady hand at the back, whenever they need it.
Rear support for standing, walking and the steps in between.
